Why is our name important?
On the 10th September 2006, after 21 years as Wolds Christian Fellowship the church changed its name to Voice of Hope Community Church. God had been speaking to us saying that He wanted the name of the church to reflect WHO we are not just WHERE we are. We asked Him for confirmation and many prophetic situations pointed us towards Voice of Hope. Then He gave us the scripture from 1 Peter 1:3 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
So having changed our name God began changing us. My back problem was healed. What an amazing God we have.
The church has two pastors, David and Gillian Riley. David and Gillian have been married for 31 years and have 3 daughters Helen, Alison and Megan plus two grandchildren Amelie and Bruce. Both have worked in education for a number of years. The leadership is supported by various teams including ministering in worship, youth / children's work, prayer, preaching and outreach.
